Minnesota’s Resistance to ICE

There is a lot to learn from Minnesota’s response to and take down of ICE earlier this year. Listen as Aaron and Damien discuss the piece “Why Was Minnesota’s Resistance to ICE the Strongest Yet?” in Hammer & Hope, which is a collection of articles from local organizers on the ground in Minneapolis highlighting and analyzing what made the resistance to ICE there so effective and the lessons that can be learned and applied from those efforts. The articles include “People Got to Know Their Neighbors” by Doran Schrantz, “They Hate Us Because We Don’t Hate One Another” by Marcia Howard, “The People Who Can Do the Most to Protect Us Are Within the Sound of a Whistle” by Lex Horan, “We Woke Up ICE and the Hotels That Supported Them” by Aru Shiney-Ajay, and “We Somalis Have Always Been a Community That Responded to One Another” by Amina Adan. Check out our episode to hear what we learn and take away from these incredible pieces in our continued learning and unlearning work and fight for collective liberation.
